People stories: Elisa
When Elisa walks into the room, she exudes a nice calm energy with a touch of joyous, playful confidence. Elisa, 32, is one of the latest additions to Freska’s team, she joined Freska as a home cleaner in October 2021. Here is the Story of Elisa.
Elisa moved to Finland from Italy in 2015 to have an adventure and to work and study. Moving to Finland was a big decision she is proud of. Elisa has studied restoration and event management and worked on some iconic events during her time in Finland, like the Flow Festival and Slush.
Elisa enjoys spending time with friends, swimming, baking bread—and admits to sometimes being sucked into the YouTube rabbit hole for lengthy periods of time, but who doesn’t?
When asked about her fondest memories she lists normal everyday moments: afternoons with her grandparents, walking the dogs, being present. She goes on to mention the ways her late grandfather laughed as a particularly dear detail, and it gets a warm burst of laughter out of her.
When it comes to her heroes she says, “Without naming anyone specific, to me a hero is somebody that has courage when it's needed.”, with so much depth it sounds like a fitting inspirational quote for any plaque or tapestry.
Elisa’s perfect day includes sunny weather, waking up early and being productive, socializing with friends, relaxing without stress—and not stepping on watery floors with socks on. Stepping on wet things and people littering are things that do not jive with her.
Working at Freska
Elisa heard about freska long time ago and applied few years later to Freska because she was a student and needed a change from her previous job and a bit more flexibility so freelancing was a good option. She believes that when it comes to cleaning, attention to detail is at the heart of the profession.
“It’s the most important thing, because like, when you look at a place you’ve cleaned and you are sure everything is ok, you turn around and do something else, and when you turn back to look at it—you always find something."
She believes it is also something you can learn through practice and experience.
“It's a bit like something that you grow into. Maybe also your personality a bit. But I think you can improve on it. Like, there is a bit of a learning curve."
